Turning one not so large space into two functional ones.
Time to Redecorate
This client was overwhelmed by the many accessories she had on display combined with daily clutter. Cleaning was a chore. The seating was too spread out for TV or conversation. She had many nice antiques that couldn’t be appreciated. The artwork was not grouped properly. It was time to redecorate.
Before
We started with the entertainment center. We removed all of the accessories and only put back her favorite pieces. The family photos were set up in another room.
Before
After
The writing desk was moved to the couch’s former location to become a focal point. The desk glows under the spotlight. The two curio cabinets were placed on either side to create a unit.
Before
After
The old singer sewing machine was moved to the other side. Of the Entertainment center. The spinning wheel was then displayed to the left against the wall. When it was under the window you couldn’t see it.
Before
After
The couch was moved to the other wall replacing the pair of chairs. The chairs were moved out into the room to create a more functional conversation and TV viewing area. The traffic pattern from the kitchen to the bedrooms now runs behind them.
Before
After
The accessories on the end tables were kept to a minimum to make a bolder statement and make dusting easier. Now the special pieces my client owns can be enjoyed and cleaning her living room is a breeze.
Before
After
Not only did clearing the room make it more relaxing, now she can really enjoy the water fountain she had by the window. Before, it just added to the clutter. Now she keeps it clean and full and it can be enjoyed next to the chair.
This client wanted to freshen up the look of her couch. After a few years of wear from the dog it needed help. Since it is structurally sound a slipcover is a great way to update the look. It can also be changed seasonally.
